MONTANA ABOLITION COALITION WILL SPEAK ON SB 185 ABOLISH DEATH PENALTY THIS WEEKEND AT ST AGNES  - this Saturday and Sunday, after Mass Ron McAndrew, a former warden of Florida's Death Row will speak on the bill. This bill would abolish the death penalty and replace it with life without the possibility of parole. Senate Bill 185 will be heard in Senate Judiciary the first part of February. The speaker has firsthand experience of America’s criminal justice system and he will share his powerful story in Red Lodge.

YEAREND TAX REPORTS WERE MAILED THIS WEEK - If you have not received your report or if our records do not match yours, please call the Church Office, 446-1237 and we will correct our error. We thank you for your generous support this year. Please pick up your Offering Envelopes for 2011. If you would like to start using Offering Envelopes this year just pick up an unaddressed box on the tables in the gathering area and sign your name and the box number on the signup sheet.

All children are invited to attend; please help the little ones come forth during the Blessing Song.

CHILDREN’S FAITH FORMATION – each Sunday at 9:00AM, and continue thru May 8th, ending with the celebration of Confirmation and 1st Communion Thursday, May 12th at 7:00PM. Please make every effort to get your children to the classes and attend Mass with them each week. We have materials to instruct your children at home if needed. ADULT FAITH FORMATION – will resume later in February with reflections on Scripture, Church, and Sacraments. Details will be in upcoming Bulletins.

ST AGNES ALTAR SOCIETY - PCCW – The next meeting will be February 16th. Carolyn Flaherty will present a program on Prayer Shawls; the prayers, the patterns, and their impact on the ill. If you would like to learn how to knit or crochet, have yarn to donate please join us for a rewarding afternoon.

ST AGNES ALTAR SOCIETY – PCCW DUES ARE DUE – the Dues of $5.00 each year are due in January of each year. All women of the Parish are urged to become a member, as each Parish Council of Catholic Women is part the National Council of Catholic Women which is the largest organization in the Catholic Church.

CUM CHRISTO WEEKENDS - the Men’s Cum Christo weekend will be March 3-6, 2011, and the Women’s Cum Christo weekend will be March 10-13, 2011. The weekends will be held at St Anthony Parish Hall in Laurel..


The balance on our Mortgage to the Diocese of Great Falls/Billings is about $94,609.03.

PASTORAL COUNCIL REPORT – the Pastoral Council is looking for a person, couple, or a group to volunteer to Chair or Co-Chair the Social Committee. The Social Committee will plan and organize all of the fun events at St Agnes Parish. Events like Coffee after Mass, Lenten Soup & Bread, Church Picnic, Mustangs Baseball Game, Summer Ice Cream Social, Advent Pasta Night, Epiphany Party just to name a few ideas. Please contact a Pastoral Council member for more information, a list of members is on the table in the gathering area. Kathy Munson reported that plans for a St Agnes Parish Directory are under way, and the appointments for photos will start in May. The next Pastoral Council meeting will be March 1, 7:00PM.

PRAYER CHAIN – Please pray for Peggy Smith who will be starting treatments for newly discovered lung Cancer. Prayers and treatments work, as Tammy Stevens last check found her clear. Please continue to pray for all the people we know that are fighting to survive any form of Cancer. Pray for the family, friends, and Medical Community that are caring for and supporting them. We have the address for Sherry Vogel Dunlap, if you would like send her a note of encouragement. Please email your prayer requests to Carolyn at or call her at 446-0256. Please notify the Office when someone is ill or hospitalized, so Father Keane can arrange to visit him or her.

CHRISTIAN SERVICE COMMISSION – WE NEED VOLUNTEERS TO PREPARE MEALS – make a couple extra servings to share with a Parish family, please call Judy Starr 446-2150, Mary LeFebvre 446-2743 or the Office 446-1237 to volunteer. If you know of any family members, friends, or neighbors in the community that have needs; meals, rides, childcare, etc, call the above. If you know anyone sick, homebound, or people in nursing homes in Red Lodge that would like to be visited or the Eucharist brought to them, please call Diane Gallagher 698-1674. We invite you to get involved in this great parish mission by signing the signup sheets on the table in the gathering area. Thank you to all the dedicated people that carry the Eucharist to the homebound.

BARETOOTH CUPBOARDS NEEDS VOLUNTEERS - We are about to set up a date for orientation training for new volunteers to work at BareTooth Cupboards Food Bank. Anyone, a neighbor, a friend, a spouse, someone at your church, someone at your place of business or employment and even yourself. Ideally, each person only has to work one two-hour shift per month, so it's not a huge time commitment. This is a very rewarding opportunity to help our neighbors in need in our local community. For more information please contact Kathy Sommerfeld 446-1628 and leave a message or call BareTooth Cupboards 446-1255 and leave a message.
